Surat, Gujarat [India]: Shiraz Gandhi, an Artist and Muralist working with different Architects and Interior Designers in Mumbai and also takes an active part in Social Activities in Mumbai. But as her hometown is Surat has started Social Initiative in Surat also.
The Shiraz Gandhi Art Foundation (SGAF) organized a unique art camp at Umbhel village in Surat district with the view to impart basic knowledge to the village children on the art of sculpting and murals on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day celebration on Sunday.
The event was organized at the Umbhel primary school and that it was attended by about 100 students from the village and nearby areas. The art camp organized by SGAF was aimed to brighten the future of the children and to bring out the potential talent from each child.
The children were made to draw on plain paper to understand their adaptability towards the art. The event was attended by village Sarpanch Darshanbhai Patel and the school family.
“On Independence Day, the little ones came forward with enthusiasm for the drawing camp. This was our humble attempt to bring out the talent and skills from every child and give them direction through art. We were surprised that the children made beautiful drawings and decorated them with colors. The children with best drawings were awarded by us to encourage and inspire them in future” says Shiraz Gandhi, renowned sculptor, and mural artist.
Shiraz said, “The children also showed enthusiasm for the art camp despite the school is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Everyone was happy to see the children’s passion for drawing. Shiraz Gandhi Art Foundation wants to educate children through art and is working in that direction”
Shiraz Gandhi is the founder of Shiraz Gandhi Art Foundation. Gandhi set up the foundation for the children from a poor background and makes them understand the art. She has been teaching arts to the children of the government schools and the poor children residing in the slum areas.
